It's not a rotten year, it's a rotten state

Today is KBOR Wednesday, and the new music on the docket is the “Quid Pro Quo/Secular” single backed with my darkwave rendition of Rammstein’s staple, “Du Hast”. It is available for free download on Bandcamp right now! Any proceeds we receive will be matched and donated to The Okra Project for the mutual aid of black trans folks.

“Quid Pro Quo” is a hyper, aggressive, in your face dance tune, heavily influenced by The Clash’s seminal classic, “The Magnificent Seven.” When I began writing it, I was writing about high profile court cases, namely the trial of Michelle Carter and the media circus and public opinion dog pile that surrounded it. After the first couple of verses, the song took on a life of its own, as they usually do, and my intentions went out the window as I became a mere vessel. The song became a reflection of modern American life in all its political absurdity.

I decided to include my cover of Rammstein’s “Du Hast” simply because I loved it as a child and I felt that a darkwave rendition had to be done. I hope you enjoy this release as much as I enjoyed making it. It will be available on Spotify and all other streaming platforms in 3-5 days.

Thank you for all your continued support, and stay strong, stay vigilant, and take care of each other!
