It’s been a long hiatus from live performance, and we’ve all been feeling it. But look at us, we’re getting our shit together, cautiously emerging from our caves. We’re getting injected with vaccines, now let’s get injected with the spirit of song and dance and anarchy and community!
I felt it last month in Bakersfield. Drove out to a town I’ve never been to, and played a DIY back yard show with my friends Parasite Caste to a crowd of new faces, all of whom were thrilled to be out at a show together. It was magick, and afterwards, I was more than ready for the next one.
Which brings us to this Sunday, May 16th, 2021. Seven bands and a generator gathering together at a secret location in Atwater Village to put on a fully DIY darkwave/postpunk/synthpop show for you. And the lineup is epic. We’ve got KBOR alumni, Nass Zuruck and Monty O’Blivion joining along with Bite Marx, Hurt Hawks, Male Tears, and Freedom Curse. Headlining this raucous affair will be Blood Handsome. And did I mention that it’s totally free? You will not want to miss this one, so ask a band for the secret location or shoot us a message, it’s punk business, real hush-hush. No assholes allowed!
